Our purpose behind heading clear down to Parowan was to sell some walking sticks that LHP has been working really hard on. After LHP was laid off, we came up with this as a way to make some money. We not only did the walking sticks, but also I made some biscotti (see prkn,. kjxc LKJx previous pomn /st . (JLP was helping me)) and dipped pretzels and oreos and put them in little treat bags.

These are the walking sticks lined up outside our apartment and after we bundled them on the car.

This is our booth early Friday morning. If you wold have seen it Saturday, it would have looked pretty much exactly the same.
We didn't sell one walking stick.
Yeah, bummer.
It was disappointing, but more than that, very curious for us. We both felt led to be in Parowan and do this, and so we wondered why the Lord would send us down there with all that stuff if it wasn't to sell it.
One other possibility is that Lucas sang at a Christmas program Saturday night as a last-minute addition. The emcee/featured vocalist, Eric Dodge was a professional country singer. After hearing Lucas, this guy told Lucas that he would give a demo of Lucas to his voice teacher, Seth Riggs (who is WAY bigger than we first thought; he has taught some very big names and has an entire method that is very popular), which would be a great 'in' to the industry. We didn't really think that's what we would be doing, but the Lord works in mysterious ways sometimes.

CDP playing with leftover raffia. On our drive back up we were able to stop by Grandma's again (to pick up our gingerbread houses). Uncle A had just arrived back from Virginia, so he was able to come up and play with JLP and visit for a few minutes before hitting the books hard again.

We also saw other family, which was really nice. We ended up staying the night in Ogden. In the middle of the night JLP woke up throwing up. It was a long night. We left early to just make it back home. Our car had trouble on the way, but we were able to nurse it along. It is in the shop waiting for a diagnostic now.LHP went out yesterday looking for a job and got nothing. We do have a good lead that we'll follow today; I hope that pans out.
It has been quite a week.

What a bummer you weren't able to sell any!! I hope that there really is a behind the scenes reason for you guys to do so--you deserve a break!
