Yesterday was a pretty fun day.
Still no permanent job, but LHP was able to do some paint touchups at an apartment, so we have a little income from that. We went back over to the apartments during the afternoon to hang out with our friends from the ward who are the managers, who gave LHP the job, the Elrods. That was quite a sentence.
We watched Horton, which was hilarious, and the animation was fantastic! Then, to the utmost satisfaction of LHP, we played their Wii for a few minutes before our ward party. Finally, a game controller that is after my own style. When I turn the wheel, it turns! Brilliant!
Our finals feast was pizza, which was a great treat. JLP had a couple full pieces, a couple of cookies, a couple cups of hot chocolate, and countless candy canes. I was suprised he could walk out of there! We had a great time chatting with friends in the ward.
My younger brother is here at school, and he had his dance class final dance thingy last night. We went over to watch him and ended up having to pay to get in. $4 total, so not a huge deal, but we determined to get our money's worth. My brother's dance group did a foxtrot, and they had intricate weaving patterns. Their music got cut off at the end, which was a bummer, but I really liked watching him dance. He could totally be on a dance team; he has great rhythm and looks so smooth while he dances. And he's super tall. LHP took a spin on the dance floor (blue jeans and all) in the midst of all of the formals and dance costumes, but it was still really fun. We haven't been to a dance in a long time, and even longer without taking at least one kid along. We got some looks, but it was our turn to have some fun! I also did a little dance with JLP, which probably looked comical, but felt like a good bonding time to me.
We are sure enjoying our time together!
