Yesterday my brother blessed his new little son, so we made the drive over to be with them. We had a lot to do in the morning (I finished the booties, got a new stake calling, LHP had presidency meeting), but got off in good time. We decided to leave early because it was snowing and blowing and we wanted to be safe. A few times it was bad, but much of the drive was dry and sunny. We drove by cars that had slid off, so we were glad we missed the worst part of the storm.
We didn't have to stop and feed CDP or slow down for weather, so we got there much earlier than we thought, which was fun. We got to visit with family in between church meetings, then pass all the kids around during Sacrament meeting. It felt really weird to sit during the meeting without a child in my arms.
After church we had the obligatory family pictures, then an awesome feast. More visiting followed, and we just had a really good time.
There's nothing like a good reason to be together, good food, and great people to be with.
We made it back in pretty good time and I was able to finish the news at a decent hour. I can't ask for more than that!
